Having always painted and sculpted, (attending the sculpture center and Art Schools in New York City and Louisville, Kentucky) I came to this new medium in 1997 when my married daughter was in search of a Butter Dish to match her china - "Something fun, Something different".

Starting with a Butter Dish that I designed and made for my daughter, my work expanded to include Wine Glasses, Salt & Pepper Shakers, Oil & Vinegar Sets, Candle Sticks, Vases and much more. Various techniques are used on each piece depending on the desired design, color, and texture. Using pre-formed glass as my canvas I find and sculpt decorative pieces for the Butter Dish cover. I reverse sketch and hand paint--in layers--the bottom of the dish, matching the design that will be used for the Butter Dish cover. Using non-toxic, acrylic paints, I then cure, fire and glaze each piece.

I am so proud that two of my Vases were chosen to be exhibited in the “Reflections of Glass” exhibit at the Riffe Gallery, Columbus, Ohio and the Akron Museum of Art, Akron, Ohio.

It is so gratifying to be able to create whimsical and functional art that people can use and enjoy every day.
